A Glimpse into Pollock's Genius
Jackson Pollock's 'drip' paintings, created by pouring and splattering paint onto canvas, were a radical departure from traditional easel painting. NUMBER 2 is a quintessential example of his 'all-over' composition, where the entire canvas is treated with equal importance, creating a mesmerizing field of rhythmic lines and colors. This technique, often associated with action painting, emphasizes the physical act of creation and the spontaneous expression of the subconscious.
